No, Heart Gallery of Alabama does not facilitate adoptions. We partner with Alabama State DHR to advocate for children currently waiting to be adopted through the foster care system. DHR is the agency that accepts the home studies, does the training, and places the children for adoption.
We aim to complete at least 2 photoshoots per month.
Typically, the majority of children featured on the Heart Gallery are age 10 and up. If children are younger, they’re typically part of a sibling group.

A home study is comprised of: family background, financial statements, education and employment information, background checks, details about home, etc. You would also need to complete a series of training classes that will ensure that you are prepared for the expansion of your family through foster care.
No, you do not have to be a foster parent. However, you will go through similar trainings in order to be approved to be an adoptive family for a child/children from the foster care system.
